B2b Marketing With Mobile

By:

Some analysts project mobile devices will overtake computers as the primary access point to the Internet globally as early as 2014.

This is big news, especially for B2B marketing agencies and their clients. Why? Because mobile devices allow consumers to act on their buying impulses in the moment by providing instant access to the Internet.

While the term "impulse buy" tends to be associated more with retail goods such as shoes or shirts, these are far from the only Internet purchasing decisions being made on mobile devices.

Business by Mobile

As smart phone technology has evolved to the point of replicating the functions of a computer, so has the art of conducting business, especially among corporate decision makers.

The majority of U.S. corporate executives consider their mobile device as their primary business communications tool, according to a 2010 Forbes Insight survey. Nearly two-thirds of those surveyed said they were comfortable making business purchases on the Internet from their phones. While executives ages 50 and over are the least comfortable in making business purchases via the mobile web, a surprising 48 percent in this demographic indicated they were comfortable.

The Mobile Road of Advertising Possibilities

Research shows the ways in which companies conduct business on the web via mobile devices varies. This finding opens up an array of possibilities for B2B Internet advertising firms to connect to their target base.

One popular tool used among the ranks of upper management are mobile applications; with the Forbes Insight survey reporting a majority of executives using mobile applications to conduct business.

Additionally, mobile advertising appears to be effective in grabbing the eye of corporate executives. More than 50 percent of survey respondents said they have clicked on web advertisements and paid search campaigns when using their mobile devices.

B2B Marketing with Mobile

The key to B2B marketing is getting the target to see the message. One mobile method proven effective in connecting with prospective clients is text messaging. Several B2B advertising agencies now use texting to promote gatherings such as tradeshows and other networking events.

B2B firms can also increase their conversion rate potential by allowing people to subscribe to e-mail marketing and branding advertising campaigns by sending e-mail addresses via text message. Such a feature will especially come in handy during networking events by allowing people to act on your brand while in the moment of experience.

These are just some of the methods in which B2B agencies can market toward smart phone users. Utilizing such strategies will become even more essential when mobile devices become the primary tool for Internet access.
