Avoiding Postcard Marketing Failure - What You Should Know

Everyday I receive emails from new postcard marketers telling me their horror stories about their failures with their postcard marketing business. Sometimes I sit back and think to myself how could anyone screw up when it comes to postcard marketing. Then I realized there are many ways to mess things up and I will share some of them with you in this article.

Bad Product: If you're marketing a product that doesn't have a large group of people willing to buy it you will definitely fail. Be sure to conduct proper market research before you decide on which product to sell.

Bad Mailing Lists: Honestly there are a ton of mailing list brokers out there who are in the business of selling people old and stale mailing lists. You can avoid this pitfall by doing an online search for mailing list brokers and finding the ones that seem to legitimate. Typically if a list broker doesn't have a contact number on their website, I don't deal with them and you shouldn't either.

Low Price Point: Postcard marketing can be expensive so you must market a product that pay's a high commission to off set your marketing costs. If you're selling a $25 product it will take hundreds of sales to make a decent income with postcard marketing. Normally I stick to products that sell between the $100 to $500 price range.

Poor Postcard Design: The design and ad copy you use on your postcard is probably the most important part of any postcard campaign. This is your call to action. If you can't get people to read your postcard and take action you're dead in the water. Spend most of your time on this step. I can't stress this enough.

Postcard marketing is by far the most lucrative business model I've used to make money from home. However, I can honestly say that if I had gotten any of the above tips wrong I would have fell flat on my face. I paid close attention to all of the details, because even the smallest error can cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars.
