Avoid Plagiarism: Enlist Ghostwriting Services

By:

The Internet allows for mass information at anyone's fingertips. Millions and millions of websites exist and a plethora of new sites are created each day. Although this is a wonderful thing, there are a handful of companies and web designers that either knowingly or naively copy content, text, or ideas from existing websites. Either way, taking information from another website is a form of plagiarism which can have a variety of negative affects for your own website. If you are not able to write the text for your own site, it is a good idea to employ ghostwriting services.

First off, seizing text from a website that you did not create will generate problems for your site on search engines, namely any type of keyword rankings. Search engines (especially the "big three") will rank your site according to different criterion, and one of them is having unique content. By copying text from other Internet sources, you are effectively telling search engines that you're not relevant, unique, or an important resource.

Similarly, if any search engine were to determine that your website mirrors another individual's text, they can penalize your site from search results (i.e., rankings outside of the top 100) or, even worse, not index your website at all. Why take the risk?

Next, let's suppose the company from whom you plagiarized were to find out. This situation could lead to not only embarrassment but even legal matters, such as copyright infringement or a law suit. Depending on what type of copyrights the company has registered for, they can most likely win any case and have your website terminated, as well as receive monetary compensation.

Additionally, what if you had a potential customer who was researching a particular product or service and has compared your website to others within your industry? If they come across the same text (i.e., list of services, guarantees and promises, etc.), then you are conveying that your company isn't creative or original enough to fabricate its own content and ideas. Most if not all of your credibility will be eliminated.

(Note: If you come across a competitor's website who has copied your text, it's best to address the issue and do everything possible to have it removed, as some users wouldn't know who has copied who.)

In essence, if you determine that you are not able to write your own website content (whether it be a lack of time or skill level), it is best to find a ghostwriter that can write your own unique content. Some people feel that paying someone to write content for them is frivolous, but doing so will eliminate the risks involved with plagiarism and help your website further excel on the Web.
