Avoid Junk Food And Save Money On Groceries

Junk food has its proper name. It is junk food, and that is it. It is absolutely good for nothing, except that it satisfies the taste buds for a few moments. But is it worth it? Hardly! These few moments of taste-bud-satisfaction are not worth the price we pay, first at the check-out counter, and then with our health.

Junk food may fill us up for a little while, just long enough to make the craving go away, but then, an hour later, guess what...the cravings are back. Why? Because our body is hungering for nutrition, not junk food. We think we are craving for that popcorn chicken, or that chocolate cake, but in reality our bodies are saying, "I want vitamins, I want minerals, and I want healthy fats! Stop feeding me junk!"

But the more junk we feed our bodies, the more we eat, and the more we eat, the more we have to spend on food.

Not only is junk food bad in the sense that it does not provide any nutrients, and real energy, but it is unable to leave the body without using up the precious energy which the body already has stored. This is why we feel so sluggish after the initial rush of energy wears off; the junk food did not provide any real energy, and now the body is using all the energy it has to try and eliminate the junk food we just put in.

When we begin to feed our body the foods that it really needs, our body begins to heal itself and eventually those nasty cravings go away. Our energy levels go way up, because the body does not have to waste any energy to eliminate junk food.

This means that we have to eliminate all cooked and processed foods including meat, dairy, and processed sugars; and stick with raw fruits, vegetables and nuts. These raw foods contain all the nutrients which our bodies crave and need, whether we believe it or not.

It is surprising to note what little amount of food our bodies actually require when we give it the right kind of food and the right foods only.

This diet may be more expensive at the earlier stages, but then once the body is cleaned out, you will consume a lot less than ever before, and be able to save tons of money on your grocery bill.
