Avoid Geek Speak, Laptop Reviews For The Layman

By:

Finding the ideal laptop can be a difficult process as there are many different brands; luckily the internet is the best place to find out what consumers have thought of their laptops. Whether you will use your laptop daily as the family computer or if you need a portable laptop to work away from home we have looked at a range of laptop reviews to make the process easier. You really don't need to be computers whizz to understand whether you are getting a product that will be suitable to you and your laptop needs.

The first laptop reviews that caught our eye was the Sony Vaio P-Series laptop, this is a very small and light product with tiny eight inch wide screen display. Made from plastic rather than metal and available in a range of colours this petite laptop looks more like a clutch bag or purse than a computer. These laptops are about half the size of most laptops and weigh a mere 640g. This laptop is perfect for someone who needs to work away from the office and home and doesn't want to lug around the extra weight of a larger model. The laptop works well and is incredibly impressive, but all of these benefits do come a quite a price of around 800 pounds.

The next lot of laptops reviews that we found impressive was for the Acer Aspire 4810T notebook, although conservative in design this model offers long battery life, perfect for those who need to use their laptop on the go. However one small design flaw is that the keyboard has quite big gaps between the keys so you do not want to be eating food near your laptop or you could end up loosing your lunch in between them. Also the graphics with this model are not as good as perhaps you would like, but this is the sacrifice you make for the long battery life, which for business is vital.

The last laptop reviews that we found helpful were that of the MSI Wind U115 hybrid notebook, claiming to offer about 12 hours of battery life. In reality we had about 8 hours of life, which is still worthy for those who need their computer on the go. The design of this computer is not very unique and looks very much like the HP version of the netbook. Finally, this model boasted being able to handle HD video playback, we found that with YouTube the play was effortless but with the BBC iPlayer it struggled. Overall this model is good, but there are certain features that some users may not find particularly helpful.
