Aviator Sunglasses And Its Beginnings

By:

Many people really don't know where the aviator sunglasses style originated. I mean it hit big when the movie Top Gun was launched in 1986. It created its debut in this movie based on many people, but it is not the whole story. It was fifty years prior to the release of that film that the original aviator sunglasses had been produced.

Pilots needed protection from the sun although retaining visibility. They required protection all around, so it was natural to create a huge pair of lenses to cover much more surface location. This style crept towards other groups of workers like the military as well as the police, and eventually it has made is way down to customers. Every one had access to this fantastic looking style.

These aviator sunglasses started out being produced in black, but a lot more colors have been appearing since then. You can discover aviators in virtually any color, including red, yellow, purple, orange, pink, green, and more.

Numerous major brands have taken their own twist to this style and changed the frame and lens shape too. You are able to even get these in prescription form now.

A special sort of lens called the polarized lens is also employed into the aviator style too. This lens reduces additional glare by blocking out most of the horizontal light waves that enter the glasses. It only makes it possible for waves of vertical light to go through, so you'll be able to retain clear vision.

Whichever way you examine it, Ray Bans will always be the original. They had been the very first, and they popularized it with the rest of the sunglass world. This just isn't to say that there aren't newer, and wonderful twists taken on this aviator style. A lot of brands produce wonderful looking renditions of the aviator sunglasses also.

About the Author:
A newer introduction to this style of eyewear are mirrored aviators. They've a special coating on them that creates a mirror-like finish. The degree of the mirror effect can vary. Mirrored aviator sunglasses come in just as several colors and styles as the previous designs, except that their lenses are mirrored.
