Australia has also become a shopping mecca for both locals and tourists alike. The choices can be high-end Rodeo type drive shops to local flea markets of bric-a-bracs. Depending on your taste and budget, the following are the best shopping areas in the country today.

Melbourne. This is without question the best shopping city in the country. There are two major shopping districts located in the heart of the city. The first one is Chapel Street and is long line of shopping, dining and entertainment venues in the city. There are many shops in the district, from high-end fashion boutiques to second hand pawnbrokers selling their wares. The second one is located on Bridge Road and it is best known for clothing retail outlets and local designer shops alongside one another.

Sydney. This is the biggest metropolitan hub in the country and often the jump off point in many holiday adventures to the country. There are many major shopping areas in the city and foremost amongst them is Pitt Street Mall. This is a walkabout area that has many flagship chain stores alongside one another, such as Myer's among others. Other major shopping destinations in the city include Westfield Centerpoint, Imperial Arcade, Skygarden, Glasshouse, Mid City Center, Westfield Sydney Central Plaza and Strand Arcade. Each of these malls has over hundreds of individual shops catering to every whim and fancy of shoppers from both within and outside Australia.

Brisbane. When in this Australian city and wanting to shop, the place to head for is the Queen Street Mall. This is the quintessential arcade for the Australian, as there are many shopping centers located within such as Myer Center and the Brisbane Arcade. There are fashion choices to be made in Wintergarden, for retail and for the high-end racks, there is the Queens Plaza. There is also retail formal attire located in Broadway on the Mall. Even with these choices, there are many other shops, boutiques and other stores located right within this one stop shopping mall located in the heart of Brisbane.

Perth. When visiting Perth, it would also be good to do some shopping there and the central area for this activity would be King Street, particularly Murray and Hay Streets. This is the area where major brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Kookai and many others are located. For shopping on a budget, you can go to Harbour Town where there are many factory outlet stores where you can purchase both the good ones and the overruns, depending on the money in your wallet.
