Air filters are for filtering of the air which will be inhaled by the car during the production of the energy, this air is to be purified before sending into the combustion tank and this will be done by using the air filters in the car.

Generally air filters are disposable ones which are made of the thin paper elements which will cover with a gasket and all these made of the synthetic material. The air filters can be found in the two varieties, one is the panel styled air filters which are the most common in all engines are of fuel injection type and second type of the air filters are the radial style which are generally used in the carburetor vehicles like those. Air filters are not only for the purpose of the filtering the air which come from the outside but also filters the dust particles in the engine, air piston, piston rings, cylinders also. These filters are sometimes worked as the cleaners for the air which is going to crankcase ventilation. These air filters are very important for a car as in survey it is proved that the engine requires a ratio of the 1:10 of fuel to the air, that is a engine requires 10 gallons of the air for every burning of the a single gallon of the fuel that is because it is called as the silencer for the front end of the car.

A regular check up is preferable for the air filters also along with the fuel and oil checking for the vehicle. Some people have to be drive on the dusty roads and in dirty condition those people have to keep in mind that the air filters have to be changed regularly. If the air filter is filled with the dust then the air filter is unable to work anymore and will be failed in filtering the air coming inside the car and this dusty air will be supplied to the car resulting in bad conditions of the car and also for the engine.
