Coonoor located in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu is always a delight to visit. Another scenic highlight is the renowned Lambs Rock. A wonderful picnic spot, it is famed for the sensational views it provides over the surrounding tea estates and the plains of Coimbatore. Not to be missed is Laws Falls which is a picturesque cascade on Coonoor river and one of the areas prettiest sites. The Droog is another noteworthy attraction, where the visitor will be able to explore a rundown fort which is said to have been built as an outpost by Tippu Sultan. A unique local attraction is the Pasteur Institute which was instrumental in the development of vaccines against polio and rabies.
