Cork City Gaol is a great visit and after its restoration has really been brought back to life. The jail really gives a great feel of what it would have been like being a prisoner behind its walls in the 19th century and to be honest it would not have been pleasant. This tourist attraction is definitely worth seeing.
Further afield
The Blarney Stone is not situated far from the city and in fact a number of bus services go there. The infamous stone is certainly worth a look especially when you are close to the pretty town of Blarney.
For those that wish to go a little further afield, the Jameson Whiskey distillery is worth a visit, you get to see how the famous tipple is made and even get to try a drop of the water of life worth it for the dram alone.
