Attaining An Understanding Of Hip Hop

By:

Music is not what Hip Hop is all about, contrary to what most suppose. There isn't another music genre in the world that goes as deep as Hip Hop does with its followers. It isn't about making a different dance move or that new club hit. Hip Hop has caused people from diverse backgrounds to come together and fashion a new culture. Most people will argue that Rap is the most innovative music genre in the world.

Since the creation of Hip Hop, several trends have came and went. The beats have altered drastically. The emcees have always came up with fresh flows and rhyming patterns to impress the fans. But the music isn't the only thing that is notable. Dancing and partying isn't the most valuable factor. Lyrics aren't even the most valuable part of the whole genre. It all comes down to the lifestyle that Hip Hop has fashioned over time. From clothing style to speaking a particular way, the music is just the start!

Hip Hop has become a complete culture and even the followers display certain beliefs that are only found within the Rap community. The lifestyle started with 4 diverse categories of people involved in Rap. The four parts of Rap are DJ's, rappers, B-Boys, and graffiti artists. This may sound incorrect because so much of the Hip Hop attention it only put onto the emcees in today's music.

This music of Hip Hop is so much different than that of every other music genre. Love, depression, hate, violence, true stories, and rhythmatic poetry are just a quantity of of the things that you can hear in a song. The radio has placed a stereotype on Rap that it is just about sex and celebrations, which is the farthest from the reality. Instrumentals are also extremely unique compared to every other music genre. Almost any instrument in the world can be used in a rap instrumental, and a large amount have.

Emcees are not the same as country singers or any other singer for that matter. They don't have to worry about having a great voice of what vocal range they have. They don't even need a good voice at all. They just have to have rhythm when they are rapping their message on beat. Rap isn't limited to certain topics. Rappers can write about whatever they want as the music genre is very open minded. Hip Hop and poetry have a lot of things in common, including this.

Many people just judge Hip Hop on what the radio plays. Think about this the next time you think Hip Hop is one dimensional after listening to the radio. Rap is the voice of almost every generation and emcees display that in their songs. With any other music genre, the general style stays the same for long periods of time. Rap is so popular with the youth because it constantly displays what the youth is going through in the world. You may hear a lot of songs right now about dancing and partying, but that's not what Hip Hop is exclusively about.
