Astrology is a science that describes the effects of the heavenly bodies upon the human characteristics, their lives and their humdrum affairs.

A chart indicating the position of the sun, the moon and the seven planets in relation to the earth and to the zodiac of a person at the point of his, is what we call the Horoscope.

The 12 houses of the horoscope that govern a man's life, in its different aspects are as follows:

1. Ascendant: The first house, which mundanely is Aries. The ruling planet of this house is Mars. The significance of this house is an individual's physical appearance like his personality, body, environment and other outward aspects. The head and the face are ruled by this house and the degree of activity is determined.

2. House of Wealth: The second house, which mundanely is Taurus. The ruling planet is Venus. It signifies our financial circumstances, profit or loss or damage and all our movable goods. This house rules our throat and neck and determines the degree of prosperity and wealth.

3. The House of Relatives: The third house, which represents Gemini and is ruled over by the planet Mercury. As the name reflects, this house signifies brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbors, family, the environment in which we live, short journeys, the degree of mentality and the perception and adaptability of an individual. It rules the shoulders, hands, arms and fingers.

4. The House of Home: The fourth house, which mundanely is Cancer and is ruled over by the Moon. Significance of this house is the father or mother, the inherited tendencies, the environment during early childhood and old age. The ruling parts of this house are the stomach and breasts and determine the native relation s with our mom and dad.
