In May, the first exemplar of Aston Martin Rapide left the Austria factory. Company officials said that in the coming weeks the model can be admired in showrooms over 34 countries.

Aston Martin officials have good reasons of joy because the first copy of Rapide supercar for the market left the factory in Graz, Austria. British manufacturer officials said that in the coming weeks the model can be seen in 125 showrooms over 34 countries.

The concept after Aston Martin Rapide was created by has been seen for the first time at the Auto Show in Detroit 2006, and during the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, the British manufacturer officials have unveiled for the first time the Rapide model.

Aston Martin Rapide has a 6.0 liter V12 propelling handmade which can produce up to 470 horsepower at a speed of 6,000 rpm. The maximum torque propeller Aston Martin that can develop is a speed of 600 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

With the occasion of official launch of the new model release, the British chairman of Aston Martin said Rapide model has no real competition in its segment, being "the only four-door sports car in the world." Ulrich Bez's statements are at least interesting when Porsche launched the new Panamera last year, a model which at least theoretically is considered the main reference in performing chapter segment.

There's no real competitor for Rapide. We have a philosophy, a design and an unparalleled product and in this segment. In addition, our company is much smaller than the Porsche company, which can be considered a general builder, says Bez, who is trying to defend this way the exclusive nature of its business products. In 95 years of activity, Aston Martin has produced only 50,000 cars, far fewer than the Porsche produced (1.2 million). Aston Martin Director explains this way the high price of Rapide too, compared with Panamera's price, Porsche model being even cheaper even in conditions of this is stronger and better equipped than the model produced by Aston.

Bez did not hesitated to attack the controversial design of the german model: "View from the front side, Panamera has a little sporty look. But most of the cars are not attractive when viewed from behind," said the Aston Martin official, who believes that a true sport car has no needs of concessions made in favor of interior space: "A sports car is less spacious in its essence. Our cars are beautiful viewed from any angle, back and front, because we do not compromise this."

Ulrich Bez's statements are considered to have a personal layer too. He worked in the '80s at Porsche company, when has dealt very closely with the 989 concept design, which ought to become the first sport sedan from the Stuttgart manufacturer's history. But the project was refused by the company directors of that time because they felt that such a model would be not successful at that time.
