Associated Arborists Utility Line Clearance

By:

Associated Arborists wants homes to stay green, ecologically friendly and above all safe for the homeowner; thats why we offer premium utility line clearance.

Homeowners need our line clearance service because man and nature are always at war. Man builds something, and nature surrounds it, and its dangerous if that happens. Trees grown too wild can literally wrap themselves around energized lines of electricity, and the adventurous child who goes climbing can be injured or killed, which happens every year without fail.

Associated Arborists would like that statistic to start failing, so we specialize in distribution and transmission right of way clearance. Basically thats pruning trees, to keep the homeowners and their families safe from the electrical wiring growing near or through the branches, and to keep the trees healthy for their long life, their beautiful foliage and their ecologically beneficial oxygen.

Pruning and line clearance is a job left to experts. A man cant just grab a trimmer and start cutting. The only way to do efficient and long-lasting line clearance is by directional pruning, which takes away the tree branches that grow toward electrical conductors and leaves the branches growing away from healthy and stable.

Another technique that only a professional would know is the reduction cut, which is directional pruning that spares main and lateral branches. The branches growing towards the electrical wiring are cut back to a lateral branch; that lateral branch, to keep the tree viable and undamaged, has to be one-third to one-half the diameter of the branch thats being trimmed off.

When Associated Arborists trim trees, we practice reduction cuts in a directional pruning technique that is safe, effective and long-lasting. When we do that, there is always good wound closure (since a tree heals over the same way a person does) and we prevent what is called apical dominance, the water sprouting that can deform trees.

Above all, we never top trees (cutting them off at the top) or round them (rounding off the branches), because these techniques can damage the trees health and structural integrity, shortening its duration and making it a storm hazard.

Associated Arborist line clearance employees are certified, trained and tested by OSHA and Labor and Industries approved programs, and we have excellent reviews from all our utility customers, and friendly partnerships with those fine folks who run city-wide vegetation management projects.

Associated Arborists is dedicated to the highest clearance standards; we want the trees to be here for a long, long time.
