Bihu Festival
This is the most popular festival of Assam celebrated in mid January, which is the harvesting season. This festival is a combination of three Bihu festivals of Assam namely Rangali Bihu, Bhogali Bihu and Kangali Bihu. Among the three the most celebrated one is the Rangali Bihu also known as Bahag Bihu. During the celebration people leave behind their daily routines and gather to enjoy the festival which is packed with joy, excitement and merriment. The main attraction of this festival is the Bihu dance done by young boys and girls accompanied by music sung by women.

Brahmaputra Beach Festival
The Brahmaputra Beach Festival is held at Guwahati the capital and the largest city of Assam. Every year in the month of January, the Assam Boat Racing and Rowing Association (ABRRA) and the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) organize this mega cultural fest. This festival also coincides with the harvest festival of Assam (Magh Bihu). Various multihued and cultural programs of this festivals call on scores of tourists from across the globe. Some of the known attractions of this festival celebration are water rafting, canoeing, wind surfing, traditional games like egg breaking, cock fighting, kite flying and exhibitions displaying the traditional craft.

Tea Festival
This is another most popular festival of Assam known for its fusion of tea, music and enjoyment. It is celebrated in Jorhat and hosted by Assam Tourism. Guwahati Tea Auction Center (GTAC) is the venue of the festival. The festival is held in November every year and participated by scores of tourists for a great experience. Some of the known activities of this celebration are journey through the tea gardens, a visit to the Golf course, jungle safaris, angling, river rafting and romantic river cruises. Along with this tourist can also get a chance to take back tea packets of tea leaves as a souvenir.

The other well-known festivals of Assam are Dehing Patkai, Majuli, Elephant and Rongali Utsav.
