Article Submission And Seo: Why Should You Rewrite Your Articles

By:

Depending on your article marketing strategy, you can submit articles to a variety of websites for traffic or for SEO purposes. You have the choice between submitting truly unique content, duplicate content, or rewritten and spun content. If you have been doing internet marketing for a while you have probably seen ads for article spinners everywhere, and most experts tell you that you should rewrite and spin your articles. Can we really say that it is crucial to rewrite and spin articles for effective SEO, or is it just a waste of your time?

The first element you should understand is that you can submit the same content to a variety of websites without ever getting penalized. There is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty for having the same content on many sites; this is really just a myth. If you have a lot of duplicate content on your own website, then you are in trouble, but this is the only situation where you can get penalized by search engines. If you think about it, the internet is full of duplicate content (RSS feeds, news, press releases, articles re-published on blogs, and so on), and there is no issue with this.

But if duplicate content does not get penalized, you should be able to publish the same article on a wide range of sites instead of rewriting it, spinning it, and then submitting it. You can do that, but writing and publishing articles does serve a purpose, and you need to put things in perspective. If you are writing articles for traffic, you can send the same article to a lot of directories and have your articles republished on many websites and blogs. If your content is enlightening, educational or entertaining, it will get re-published and create buzz around your site. This is just how the internet works and this is fine.

But if you are writing and publishing articles for SEO, meaning you want backlinks to your website and a lot of them (which is actually the main purpose of article marketing), you need to be thinking in a totally different way. It has been proven by many online marketers as well as SEO experts that sending the same article over and over will not give you good SEO results.

From experience we can say that sending out the same article, with the same title and the same resource box pointing to the same URL with the same anchor text is truly inefficient in terms of SEO. You will have spent a lot of time submitting the article only to be credited for one or two backlinks.

If you can partially or completely rewrite an article, you will produce several combinations of words, sentences, paragraphs, thus increasing the uniqueness of your article. You will not automatically get one backlink for each article, but you will definitely be rewarded with more backlinks than by submitting the same article. And the more you rewrite every part of the article, the more unique it becomes, and you will get much better results in terms of SEO.

Here is what you can do:

- You can rewrite your article titles. This enables you to target several keywords.

-If you spin the body of your article, it will get accepted by far more article directories, web 2.0 properties, and blog owners (remember that blog owners don't like to publish duplicate articles on their sites).

- Rewriting the resource boxes of your articles is a great way to get more backlinks because you can target different anchor texts and different URLs.

Article marketing is all about being efficient (getting results while wasting the least possible amount of time and money). While you do not have to rewrite all your articles, spending some time on article spinning and rewriting, whether with some article spinning software or manually, will greatly boost your SEO results.
