Article Marketing Tips For The True Beginner

By:

Those new to the world of Internet marketing can benefit from learning some basic article marketing tips. In fact, if you want your website to see the traffic you're dreaming of, this is one marketing method you cannot ignore.

Article marketing is perhaps the most effective and inexpensive ways to promote your website. Google and other search engines recognize articles as "good content" which means if you're savvy about keywords you could see your website move from page 30 on Google to page one or two!

Here are some tips:

•Make it interesting—Write about a subject that your customers are interested in. Think about what your customers would like to learn about your specific business, then write an article about that. Write a headline that will grab the potential customer.

•Make it readable—Not everyone is an effective writer. If that's the case, it doesn't mean you have to forget about this powerful marketing tool. If you can't write it, hire a company that specializes in providing articles for marketing purposes.

•Make it useful—People will want to read an article that is helpful to them. Use words like "top tips" or "best strategies" or "best methods" in your headline and then follow through with good writing.

•Make it keyword rich—When writing your article, make certain your keywords are in the headline as well as in the first paragraph of your submission. Keywords are the words your customers will type into search engines to find information about a specific topic. Your article should contain those keywords so that it pops up on Google. Here's a word of caution: You cannot pack your submission too full of keywords because then they will be rejected not only by the article directory (more on that below) but Google will also ignore it.

•Submit it—Several online directories exist for the sole purpose of allowing online businesses to market themselves through articles. Look for ones that have revenue sharing or that allow you to make money with your writing through Google Adwords. Every dollar counts.

•Watch over it—Don't just write about it and forget about it. Most online directories allow you to keep track of how well your submission performs. Make use of this data because it will tell you which keywords are working for you, which submissions are attracting the most attention, and which subjects you can ignore.

One submission is not enough. If you are committed to this type of marketing, you will see results, but you have to keep it up long-term. Just because you're on page one today, doesn't mean you're going to be on page one tomorrow.
