Article Marketing Tips - 3 Article Resource Box Mistakes To Avoid

By:

There are a lot of great articles being marketing throughout the web. However, there are plenty of great articles with resource boxes that turn the article from gold into junk. There are 3 article box mistakes that can easily be avoided.

Here are 3 article marketing tips on what to avoid in the article resource box:

1. No call to action. In a perfect world your reader would know exactly what you want them to do without you having to spell it out. Unless that happens or we all become psychic or telepathic you are going to have to SPELL IT OUT.

Fix: Figure out what action you want your readers to take. Do you want them to check out your product and but it, go to your blog, download a free e-course? Whatever the call to action make sure you include it in your article resource box. Make it clear and attractive by solving a problem.

2. Too much about you. Yes, it is an author box and you should tell a little bit about who you are and what you do. However, do not make it a whole article in itself.

Fix: Think Twitter sized bio like on your Twitter profile page. You want to engage the reader to find out more about you. Think the less is more approach. What do you have to offer or have experience in that could solve the reader's problems? Then invite them to take action to find out more about you, maybe challenge them to Google you or send them to your blog.

3. What Link? This often happens with those people the get caught up in writing an article sized-bio, though I have seen it in shorter resource boxes as well. No link and no call to action is like reaching a dead end street, the reader is just going to turn back from which they came. They may try to find out more about you, then again they may not.

Fix: Have a link to something that is appropriate that goes with your call to action as well as entices the reader to know more about you. No more than 2 links. Having too many links can be just as harmful as having none. Having these links to your other appropriate sites will provide you with some great backlinks over time and traffic.

When creating your next article resource keep these 3 article marketing tips in mind. By following these 3 simple steps you will increase your readers, action takers and traffic to your sites, all of which means more profit for you.
