Article Marketing: A Combination Of Article Writing And Article Submission

By:

The concept of article marketing goes beyond writing articles, abut includes article submission to article directories and many other publications. Although many refer to writing and submitting articles as 'article marketing' it can also be defined as the marketing of the articles you write to make best use of them.

When I write an article that I want people to read, I then must market that article. In order to do that the text I write must be interesting to readers and also be easy to read. The grammar should be acceptable, although it need not be academically perfect, and spelling should be good while not necessarily free of the occasional understandable typo. Lick this one! Keep in mind that grammar was developed along with language in order to eradicate ambiguity as far as possible, and unfortunately there is now a great deal of ambiguity in our language.

That is because certain words have been hijacked to give them meanings that they were not originally intended to give. Some people might refer to it as 'language development' but to me it is the first step to the destruction of a language. Such words as 'gay', 'right' and 'sophisticated' had different meanings when used in general speech than they have today, largely due to them being used as euphemisms or slang to the extent that they became accepted English.

At one time the term 'gay' meant carefree, such as in 'the Gay 90s for the 1890s and sophistication referred to cynicism and deceit (not well bred as it is now!). The terms 'right yeah!' and 'right OK' also have no connection to the originl true meanings.

Neverheless, let's return to article marketing, article writing and the use of article submission services in marketing your articles. The way I use 'article marketing' benefits me significantly, because having an article published is fine, but also having it read will be likely to give you the result you want from its publication than if you made no effort to market the article.

To a large number, article submission is intended to market their article so that is read by lots of people who might also click on their resource link. This is achieved by users of article directories searching them for articles relating to their niche, and then copying them as content (complete with your resource) to their own sites.

Adsense pages are a prime example of this - website pages designed for no other purpose but to attract people to click on Adsense adverts to make money for the website owner with each click. Attracting traffic to the site for sales purposes is irrelevant to them: their product is, in effect, the Google ads on their website. Especially those that are using Adsense arbitrage to make money (be careful: that could result in loss of your Adsense account as it did mine!).

However, I also get my articles published on genuine content pages, and have been so successful with article marketing that I use no paid advertising whatsoever. I carry out all my advertising by writing articles and submitting them to article directories and ezines, and also using backlinks from social bookmarking and networking sites.

The backlinks are relatively ineffective because my website Article Services holds the top 2 places on Google for that keyword and others yet only has a Google PageRank of 2 and occasionally 3 - it must oscillate between the two on the cusp of links neeed for a 3 - all because of article marketing and the intelligent search engine optimization I use on my web pages.

You can do the same. By means of article writing and article submission it is also possible for you to get high listing a in Google. You should not only write articles, but also market them: article submission is one of today's most significant and important means of internet advertisng of web pages, and anybody that disagrees with that probably can't write! It might be illuminating if somebody wrote to me that article marketing played no part in their top 3 Google listing.

It certainly contributed to about 60% of my success, the rest coming from SEO on each of my web pages. Both are important, but were I to choose which to use were I only permitted to use one marketing method, it would be article marketing as a combination of article writing and article submission. Ezines, blogs and particularly article directories are the best platforms for your articles - a lot better than a blog or ordinary web page because people look to directories and ezines for content for their own websites!
