Sustaining the event for its fifth consecutive time, 2011s edition will bring together around 82 galleries. In addition, there are other programmes that have been organized such as Art Park, Global Art Forum, Arbraaj Capital Art Prize, Art Week and START. Furthermore, there are separate projects that will also be taking place which includes film screenings, exhibitions, talks, performative tours and installations. Unveiling the ingenuity of the artists, these organized projects allow layman and experts alike to discuss openly about art. Most of the topics range from world renowned artists, art professionals to curators and critics. The most awaited part of the fair is the Arbraaj Capital prize, which rewards a million dollars to five of the best artists from the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa. This also includes one international curator.
The 2011 show will introduce a new aspect to the fair, the Art Dubai Live. This will be an online platform, targeting the wide-spread social media network. Launching in close proximity to the fair, it will enable a larger group of media personnel, collectors and visitors to engage. Attracting a diverse group of people, some of the galleries that are participating are Athr Gallery from Saudi Arabia, Chemould Prescott Road from India, Frey Norris from USA and Chantal Crousel from France. First timers include Pilar Corrias Gallery from UK, LAtelier 21 from Morocco and Goodman Gallery from South Africa being a few of them.
