Are You Training For Self Defense? Are You Sure?

By:

Every day, scores of people enroll into martial arts and defense classes. And, every day, just as many drop out of these very same programs because they are not getting what they know they need to be safe in the real world. If you're looking to develop reliable skills and the ability to truly be able to defend yourself against a real attacker in a real-world self defense situation, then you must begin with making sure that this one thing is in place!

Do you know what it is?

It is making sure that the training program that you choose reflects the realities of what a real world self defense attack is like!

Remember, this is not 16th century Japan, Korea, or China. Even if you live in those countries today,the attacks used by violent people - not to mention the weapons - are very different from what they once were.

If you really want to be able to defend yourself, you must me sure that the program that you are enrolled in, the techniques you are learning, and more importantly...

The teacher that you have entrusted your life and safety to...

Are "Right!"

Self defense is not a choice - it's a responsibility.

But you do not only have the responsibility for protecting yourself. You must never forget that, first and fore-most, have the responsibility for making sure that "what" you are learning matches what you will have to deal with in a real attack!

You must remember that most martial arts and self defense programs are not selling "self defense." They are selling things like...

* Hope
* Confidence
* Peace-Of-Mind, and...
* a 'Sense' of Security

It's not that any given school or martial art's techniques don't work. But, you must remember "why" you are there and what you know to be true about the way people are attacked, and the most common attacks that you are likely to encounter.

This isn't about whether or not that fancy "karate-style" punch or kick is effective. The question is...

"How many real-world attackers do you think are going to come at you with one of them?!

Regardless of whether we're talking about Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, or my own martial art of Ninjutsu, you must make sure that what you are learning in class is designed to work against a 21st century attacker - on the street - in a self defense situation where there are no rules, no referees, and no trophies for 2nd place!
