Are You The Victim Of Delusional Thinking When It Comes To Surviving A Self-defense Situation?

By:

Many students who are engaged in martial arts or self-defense programs believe that their training will make them invincible or untouchable in a real-world, self-defense encounter. They believe that all of their stances, cool karate moves, and fancy techniques will act like some kind of a force field, or impenetrable shield against the rage and damage that a committed attacker will actually throw at them. Well, some people believe in the Easter Bunny too!

This article not only bursts this ridiculous "bubble," but sets the record straight on what you "should" be focusing on when it comes to real-world, self-defense training!

Strong words, I know.

In fact, I know that in just a few short sentences, I've already offended the sensibilities of more than a handful of readers - so much so, that they're no longer reading.

And, that's okay.

Because this article is not for the Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris wanna-bees. It's not for those who dream of one day becoming a real Jedi Knight.

No. This article was written for those who are looking for real training, for real people, in a real world!

Does this describe you?

Yes?

Then let's get to the heart of the lesson, shall we?

The reality of surviving a real-world attack in today's world is that...

...you will have enough to worry about from your assailant - with all of the gut-wrenching and raw, animalistic rage coming at you - with all of the punches, kicks, or weapon attacks...

...that you don't have to give him more of an advantage by being deluded and ignorant in the process!

What I mean is that there are hundreds and thousands of people training in the martial arts and taking self-defense courses who actually believe that, if they are ever attacked for real, that their training will prevent them from ever being punched, kicked, shot, stabbed, or whatever. Can you believe that?

I hope not!

Because it just isn't the reality of the world!

And, you know what? You're training isn't supposed to make you untouchable.

It's not your job - not what you should be focusing on in a fight - to not get cut, hit, or touched by your attacker.

It's a fight for God's sake!

No. You're job is not to not get hit...

Your job is to not allow those things to happen to such an extent that your "TV gets turned off!" Your training - at least part of it anyway - is to protect you from being damaged to the point of not being able to operate effectively. The other part is to make him not be able to operate effectively, lose consciousness, or get the Hell away from you!

That's it.

So, the next time some idiot tries to show you "the technique that can't be beaten;" or someone tries to convince you that if you learn their martial art, that no one will be able to touch you...

Run! Don't walk...

Run away from the lunatic or con-artist. Because they're trying to sell you something that will get you beaten, broken, or killed in the real world!
