Are You Ready For The Kart Racing Season To Get Going?

By:

Maybe the time is getting right to clean everything up good, polish and work all the stuff into shape for another go at the kart racing wars. Depends on where you live as to when you will need to be ready.

Most of the Florida , South Alabama and Georgia tracks usually start the season in mid to late January. This article is written mainly for dirt racers and I have to be honest I am maybe not as familiar with a lot of the tracks as I should be, especially from Mississippi westward.

I do know that the kart racing is gaining in leaps and bounds and becoming more popular each year. After all this type racing is perhaps the best place to start a young racer.

He/she can learn a lot about racing and need not spend a lot of money in order to do so. Just depends on where or which way you want to point the kid, or where do you want your kid to be as far as racing is concerned 7 or 8 years down the road?

The dirt oval tracks are very competitive and most of the good and successful racers now retired will tell you that the best starting place is on the dirt ovals. Most do start there. However many start on the small asphalt road courses, It is good to have a lot of competition on both types.

The best place to learn good high speed driver control is on the wet slick dirt ovals. Experience gained in these type conditions cannot be any better for a kid just starting out. If he can rise to the top in these conditions and surroundings then as he competes more and more, he will get better and better.

If you talk with many of the older drivers who have been racing for many years. Most will tell you quickly, Driving a kart, a sprint car, or a late model only makes you better. If you can get into a situation to where you are racing at a different track four or five times each week, your driving will improve ten fold.

It will happen very quickly. You become more and more acclimated to your kart or what ever you may be racing. You feel very comfortable in the seat therefore if the equipment you are racing is top caliber, you become so used to the kart or car especially on short tracks, the speed is not noticeable to you at all at least until you hit something..

When you are able to get into a situation like this, you are ready to go and win races quite often. No, No, you are not going to win every night or afternoon, but out of 5 races each week and with stiff competition, you should be able to win one or two, run second and third with an occasional fourth in the others.

That is why repetition is good in any sport, billards, tennis, golf, basketball. If you are good at whatever you do, repetition will only bring the cream to the top. So it is time for another season of kart racing to be cranking up within a month or less, get everything ready and go after the trophy.
