When considering a prescription acne antibiotic treatment option there are three that are the most popular. Those are Clindamycin, Retin-A and Accutane. According to studies Clindamycin is the safest and most effective of the medications

Using any prescription medication has it's risks so be sure to become familiar with the risks, side-effects and contraindications. There is always a real danger for the body if used inappropriately. When considering a prescription medication make sure you use it properly by dosage and times per day it should be taken. After that being said I know how acne can take a passion for living away. If you are always thinking about the acne on your skin you can become paranoid which is no way to live life. In a number of situations people become very depressed and can even have suicidal thoughts come into their minds. With this in mind the use of a prescription medication is an absolute necessity.

Why do you need an antibiotic treatment for Acne? Lets get a better understanding of what acne is and then it will make sense.

For the sake of this article let's look at three types of acne, blackheads, whiteheads (little pimple that forms a white bump) and what we will call a zit, the kind that is bigger, red and obviously inflamed and infected. An antibiotic would not benefit the first two types of pimples because bacteria are not present but the antibiotic would help the zit. The constituents of the pimple is extra sebum (naturally occurring oil that is secreted by the body) and under those conditions bacteria can multiply. When the bacteria colonize the infection stimulates the body's immune system, which causes more and more pus (dead white blood cells) to accumulate resulting in the larger white head frequently called a zit.

Never forget that the worst thing you can do is to squeeze the zit. Squeezing a zit can be so tempting but do not do it at all costs. This can push the pus deeper into the skin and even spread it to another part of the skin underneath and above and will most likely result in scarring of the skin.

To avoid this terrible situation using Clindamycin as an acne antibiotic treatment is a good solution. Keep in mind that it is not necessary to buy the brand name Cleocin T and spend more money. The generic Clindamycin will be fine, you can find it online and you will save money.
