It is reported to have over 4000 shops, and covers 58 street blocks. The Grand Bazaar market is filled with everything one could want for, from authentic Turkish food, and carpets, ethnic clothing, restaurants, spices, pottery and the list goes on. Construction on The Grand Bazaar ended in 1461 and it has been open since.

The Blue Mosque is considered to be an historical mosque in Istanbul. It was built between 1609 and 1616 by Sultan Ahmed. It is also referred to as The Sultan Ahmed Mosque. The name Blue mosque comes from the inside of the mosque being adorned with beautiful blue tiles. The Blue mosque has seen its fair share of wars, but has become a popular tourist attraction today.

Public transportation is thoroughly developed in Istanbul and easy for visitors to use. Buses, metro and trams are the usual method of public transportation. Taxis are available as well, but are not recommended due to being expensive as it can take a long while for the driver to manoeuvre through the overcrowded streets.
