Are You Distracted Easily?

By:

It is just one night before your exams! You knew you had to hit your books hard, if not you will fail! You took out all your notes and tutorials and pile them in front of you, having a strong determination to digest them before you go to sleep. The first 15 mins was ok, everything was going well. But after that, you find your mind losing focus. You start to lose track of what you are reading and have to constantly trace back again and again. Your eyes start to wander off at the nearby playstation. Your mind start to lose focus and have more and more difficulty processing the information you read. As a result, you spent long hours on your study desk but less than 1 hour absorbing information. Feels painful, doesnt it?

Are you easily distracted when studying? Well, you are not alone! Before I became a Study Grandmaster, I was having lots of difficulty facing with distractions too. I could spend more than 5 hours on my study desk, but the information I actually processed is just 20% of what I read. Frustrated, I went to research on how to improve my concentration and tried many, many strategies. Then finally, I got the answer 1 day.

Firstly, you have to understand your 2-in-1 brain. Our brain is spilt into 2 hemispheres, a left one and a right one. Our left brain deals with logic, rational thinking, Maths, language, analysis and so on. Our right brain deals with more fun things like imagination, rhythm, colours, feelings and even day-dreaming. Up to 90% of the stuff we learn in school, like Maths, English, Econs, Science, Humanities requires our left brain to function. Our right brain is not utilised at all! So imagine you have 2 pet dogs and you keep on playing with the one on your left, what is going to happen to the right one? It will get BORED! And when it get bored, it ends up distracting you like licking you, jumping on you or even chase the other one away. That is exactly what is happening to your right brain!

If you constantly day-dream or stare at girls, or guys in class, it is because your lesson only require your left brain to work and hence, your right brain is seeking attention. It is getting bored and needs something to do. If you have to switch on the music or have to go to some noisy places like McDonald to study, it is because of the same reason!

Therefore, I can conclude that the causes to all these distractions is due to our right brain seeking attention. And the answer to soling this problem is to involve both your right and left brain in your studying process! And I discovered that by using both sides of your brain, only does it keep your right brain happy and busy, it also boost your brain power in processing information, faster and better!

Shortly, I will share some underground study techniques that will make use of your right brain to unlock your creativity and in becoming a Study Grandmaster.
