Are You Dieting For The Right Reasons?

Many people do not diet for the right reason. Sometimes they forget why they even are dieting in the first place. To make a diet work you must truly know why you are dieting. Only then can you stick with it to make it work for you.

When it comes down to being on a diet we must all find our own motivation.

So why go on a diet?

1. Losing weight is why most of us do it. This is usually a good a reason.

Many of us walk by a mirror one day and realize we are over weight. We do not like what we see.

This can become the driving force of creating a dream to find our old body. I can not believe I look like this is a sad thing to come to grips with.

2. Becoming more physically fit is a common reason people go on a diet. Maybe we have a desire to do more things with the family that we can not do now.

You can only begin to do more when you are fit enough to do it. Some people have hard time walking across the street, much less hiking, biking, dancing, and so on.

3. Possibly it is a realization that by being overweight we could be cutting our life short by being overweight. It is a proven fact that many dieseases such as heart disease are more prevalent in people who are fat than they are in people who are skinny.

4. I know after putting a long day at work many times we are lacking in energy. Losing weight is a good way to increase energy all day long.

It can affect how you sleep which affects your energy as well. This can lead to poor production at work which can hurt you pay as well!

Losing any amount of weight will take time so you need to stay motivated. Remember you did not gain all of your weight in one day and you will not lose of all of it one day either.

So why diet? I have just listed several of the main reasons people decide to diet. These may or may not be good enough reasons for you to go on a diet.

You must stay motivated and keep focused on it regardless of the reason you have to lose weight. If you know why you are doing it in the first place you can reach your weight loss goals.
