Are You Competing For Success?

By:

Success comes to us all naturally when we are attuned and aligned with our Divine Self. Success is part of our spiritual structure as success stems from the energies of abundance.

But deep within our psyche, we may have this belief that if we succeed than other people have to fail. This mindset actually stems from the lack mentality and negative mindset. I am sure you personally have experienced this at one time or another: feeling guilty for your success, feeling bad that you may have gotten better results than others, or feeling as if you have taken something from someone else.

The positive and abundant mindset would have you believe that you are not even competing with other people in the first place. And that you are simply creating opportunities for yourself, working on strategies to make these opportunities work, and allowing yourself to feel deserving of these chances and grabbing them when they arise.

As you know, those who take action will see results. Those who complain and whine and feel bad will remain in that space indefinitely until they do something about it.

I personally find that there are way too many spiritual people who refuse to take part in anything (read: life) because they feel it promotes competition. There are also spiritual parents I have heard of who would not let their children play football because that would put them in a competitive mode and if one side wins, the other side would lose. Yes, of course if the focus is on winning and losing. The fact that the spiritual parents are not allowing their children to play the game only emphasizes that there is winning and losing!

The truth is it doesn't have to be about competition. It is about taking opportunities and chances. A game of football is very similar to life. Are you taking your chances? Are you going to go all out at the opportune time and take a no excuses approach and do whatever it takes to get the ball into the goal? Are you working with your team? It is in fact a journey of self development.

I believe a good football coach would guide the children in this manner with the focus on self development. And that if the other side scores more goals, there is a lesson to be learned for the side that didn't. Studying what mistakes were made, and seeing what opportunities were not used, and thinking of creative strategies to overcome barriers, all of these are so important.

In fulfilling your life's mission, it is the same. You are not competing with your fellow spiritual friends. You need to create opportunities for yourself, take chances, create new ideas and position yourself differently so that there is no competition only creativity and cooperation between you and others.

Recently someone asked me what do I do for a living, I explained to her in two sentences and she asked me if my work is very rare. I told her that there are more and more spiritual and holistic coaches now so it is not that uncommon. Then she immediately said, oh so now there is more competition for you! She summed up in one sentence the kind of mindset most people have in the world.

The question now is, are you competing for your success?
