Are You Bleeding When Pregnant?

Many women will see some pregnancy bleeding during this pregnancy. In many cases this will simply be a case of minor spotting. Although there are various normal reasons for a pregnant woman to experience this, pregnancy bleeding cannot be ignored. Even if you think this is an innocent occurrence, its a good idea to share your experiences with your physician.

One sure reason, to contact your physician is if you see an increase in the flow of pregnancy bleeding. Let your doctor determine how serious your case actually is. There are some reasons for pregnancy bleeding that can be simply treated. Infection is one of these reasons.

Some pregnant women will experience some sort of infection during pregnancy. Infection of any of the pelvic organs can result in pregnancy bleeding. If for instance, a womans vagina or cervix, becomes infected spotting or bleeding could be produced. Although this is an uncomfortable occurrence during pregnancy, women can be treated for it.

Other women will have a specific type of infection. Yeast infections have also been related to the cause of spotting or bleeding in pregnant women. This infection can be treated by your doctor, through the prescription of various products. Most often used, are creams to provide relief from the symptoms of burning or itching. Creams applied to the effected area, can provide instant relief for these women.

There will, however, be situations that involve bleeding that are serious. In cases where women are seeing pregnancy bleeding, or leaking amniotic fluid, she should take note. This is definitely an occasion to visit your doctor. Leaking amniotic fluid can be a dangerous risk to your unborn child.

Amniotic fluid is actually a nourishing liquid inside of the pregnant womans amnion. The amnion grows and fills with mostly water up to the 10th week of pregnancy. At that point, amniotic fluid begins to contain precious proteins for the baby. When this fluid starts to leak prematurely, many serious situations can arise.

This type of leak can risk the life of the fetus, because amniotic fluid provided protection for it. Although only 10% of pregnant women, actually deliver on their due dates, full term pregnancy is important. It is not ideal to have labor prematurely induced, for any reason. Carrying your baby full term is always the most desired scenario.

Women, who experience these early leakages of amniotic fluid, are often put into the hospital. This is a safe way to monitor not only their pregnancy, but the level of leakage, as well. Premature labor is not the only concern affected by the leaking of amniotic fluid. Risking infections is also very important in these cases.

If a woman, who is experiencing this amniotic fluid leakage, does not soon go into labor problems may arise. In fact, her situation grows more risky if she doesnt go into labor within 1-2 days of the start of this leakage. At this point, the mother and the baby are being put in harms way. Infection can negatively affect the baby, too.
