Are You Aware Of Every Thing About Social Networking?

By:

Social networking may be the most recent and fastest increasing appearance on the internet - only consider Facebook, with more than 500 million users as well as Twitter at the moment has over 190 million users. These numbers pretty much show precisely how well-liked these social services really are. The web has become the biggest medium when it comes to spreading the news and for advertising. There is a very good reason why the web advertising industry has been increasing profoundly the last couple of years.

But now that social media sites, also known as web 2.0, are becoming a lot more popular, I as a web marketer start asking myself the particular question precisely how I will make use of this. I am talking about, there are more than five-hundred million people I could reach for my vintage electric guitars website when using social media! That's certainly more than worthwhile don't you think? There is just one tiny difficulty...

Social media hasn't been developed to use it as an advertising and marketing channel. You can try it I suppose but believe me - in case you try and apply it to directly sell to people, you're going to get an issue quite soon, because people simply can't stand it and I can realise why. Imagine you are relaxing in your family room, chatting to a couple of your friends. All of a sudden, a salesperson simply walks in and starts off promoting his products to you and your friends. How would you react? I guess you'd kick him out of your home (I'd). Now that's exactly what happens to marketers that are too aggressively using social networking sites to sell their products.

After acknowledging this I was initially quite sad, because I wanted to in some way interact with those 500 million individuals out there. Obviously there is the choice of placing advertisements, yet I've never been a huge friend of this, it just isn't the way I work. So, I figured, why don't you do what the social networks want me to do? Construct good and constructive relationships with individuals. I am talking about, why wouldn't people like me as a business and wish a friendship with me, though it may only be a shallow one?

So, I started out making friends on Twitter simply by following those people I thought were interesting. Obviously simultaneously, I tweeted as much interesting and appealing things as I can, hoping to attract others to follow me. Since Twitter without followers is much like broadcasting an advertisement on a radio-station no-one listens to anyway or even optimizing an internet site for any keyword and key phrase that no one has searched for the past 10 years. It might be just a waste of time. Now even though it took some time, eventually I got more and more successful with my tweeting.

And so i hope that you can now begin to see the value of social media sites - there really is quite a bit of traffic you are missing if you are not utilizing it whatsoever. I mean, a lot more than 500 million people!
