Are You A Little Dim?

By:

I don't mean in the IQ sense, but more specifically - 'dim' as in the light that runs your body. "What light?" you may ask. I'm not getting all romantic or esoteric on you - its basic anatomy and physiology.

Picture your brain as the power generator of your entire body. It gives life to all the other parts - your heart, lungs, stomach, kidneys, muscles, hormones... in fact there isn't a single system or function in your body that isn't regulated by your brain. How does the brain get those messages to the 100 trillion cells that make up your body? Through an elaborate bundle of wiring not unlike electrical cabling called your nervous system.

That is why I call the brain and nervous system the 'master control system'. It literally carries electro chemical impulses through the body just like light. Just like a light bulb that gets dim if it is not getting its full power supply, the cells, tissues and organs of your body may not be 'glowing' at their full capacity.

But where is the 'dimmer switch' in your body? Well it is the vertebrae in your spine. If the vertebrae become misaligned - a condition that is known to well informed health professionals as 'subluxation'. When we hyphenate that word we get its true meaning. 'Sub' - meaning less than, 'lux' - the international unit of light, and 'ation' or nation - meaning a body. In other words, less light flowing through our body!

So if you are feeling or functioning a little 'dim', get back to the power source of the problem by removing the interference from the nervous system, rather than just trying to replace the light bulb, so to speak.

This is the purpose of chiropractic adjustments in their purest essence. Adjustments to the spine don't add anything or take anything away. The intent is to safely, gently and effectively align the vertebrae to allow the nervous system to function at 100%. Patients often comment - "it feels like the power has been turned back on doc" after they get adjusted.

Most of us don't realize we aren't 'glowing' at our full wattage. Its kind of like when your sitting in a room at night with the light of full force, but then someone comes along and turns the dimmer switch down a notch and you notice it at the time, but a few minutes later you have adapted to the 'new norm'. Then if the dimmer switched gets turned down another few notches over time, again you briefly notice as it happens, but then quickly adapt.

When people get their spine adjusted and remove the nerve interference it is like turner the dimmer switch back up. People forget how bright their life was over time. So in real life what turns down your dimmer switch? Slips, falls, car accidents, toxins in our environment - in a word stress! That is why when it comes to keeping the light shining its brightest in your life, we not only get your 'master system' function on full beam, but also help you identify and alleviate the stressors in your to keep you beaming at your body brilliant best.
