Are There Water Shortages Where You Live

By:

We have so many states that have droughts every year. Are you in one of these states? Most of you that are in these states have the same water related problems. With each year that passes when your state does not receive enough rain water or snow, it can cause a water shortage to continue into the next year. This situation can also happen when your town or city keeps growing or there are too many using one water source. If you should find yourself in this situation, try to do whatever you can to help with the water problems.

You might have to use some bottled water for a lot of the small things like the water you and your family drink each day and to cook with. You can find this water in gallon jugs or even 3 or 5 gallon containers with spigots. If you buy smaller bottles of water to keep drink, try buying water in these larger quantities and refill your smaller bottles because it is much more economical. You will then need to look around your home to find out where you can cut out wasting your water supply. You can start by cutting out running water unnecessarily. If you could watch yourself for one whole day, you might be surprised by the number of times you would catch yourself doing this very thing.

Most of you do not even realize that you are doing this because we do it without thinking. If you end up in a situation with a lack of water, make sure that you follow all of the rules. These rules will change with each stage that this water shortage goes into. There are five to six stages and they will change with each rain fall. If your area does not get a lot of rain, but does get a lot of snow, this can affect this shortage also. All of this snow might put your water supply back to normal, but it can depend on the wetness of the snow as well.

If you happen to move into a bigger community than you left behind, you should check with the local water department to find out if they have any water bans in place so that you will not get hit with unwanted fines. Some of these fines can be very high and costly. This office will not care if you just moved in or not.
