Are There Antibiotics In Your Milk?

By:

Many people are having various challenges with their health these days. As doctors prescribe antibiotics they are finding that people are becoming increasingly more resistant to the them.

Many times, stronger and stronger antibiotics have to be used in order to help a person get well. There has been a lot of focus on the problems of antibiotics in the meat supplies.

Milk products were overlooked much of the time as a source of antibiotics. Why would antibiotics be in milk?

There is a growth hormone that is given to many cows in order to get them to produce more milk. The problem is that the cows also tend to develop mastitis from the pressure of an increased amount of milk coming through.

To counteract the problem of mastitis which is essentially an udder infection and swelling, antibiotics have to be given to the cows in greater and greater quantities.

Dannon had to reject certain milk from certain dairies because of the antibiotic content. The yogurt culture was being killed off from the high level of antibiotics.

Antibiotics tend to kill off the good bacteria as well as the bad bacteria in people who have to take them. A common problem following the use of antibiotics is that a person then becomes susceptible to getting a yeast infection.

Normally, people should have an adequate quantity of good bacteria, which helps to fight off the bad bacteria. But, when there are antibiotics in the body, they kill off all bacteria.

That's why people can get well from an infection, serious cold, pneumonia, or other bacterial illness. The bad thing is that after they get well, the next thing that tends to happen is the yeast infection.

Ideally, once you get a yeast infection, you should have some plain yogurt to help replace the good bacteria. You can mix it with a mashed banana for taste, and it should clear up the yeast infection and help you return to normal.

There are also acidophilus pills that you can get at the health food store in the refrigerated section. There are fermented plant foods such as sauerkraut, kim chi, miso, and rejuvelac that will help you to also replace your good bacteria.

You don't want to be consuming antibiotics in your everyday diet or it will cause you to develop an immunity to them. Then, if you have a serious bacterial infection or illness, the medical doctor will not be able to help you.

But, there is always hope by returning to a back-to-nature regimen and finding simple ways to regain your health. Some people like to do some study and research on their own, and some people turn to alternative health practitioners in their search for solutions.

Become more educated in what is happening to your food. Be careful to make the best choices for your health.
