Are Insects Invading Your Home

By:

Sometimes it does not matter if you keep the cleanest home in the neighborhood, you can still be invaded by many types of insects. While it is true that they are attracted to food and water left at their disposal, sometimes they come in even if there does not seem to be any around to nourish them. Insects always get in from the outside and depending on where you live will determine what kind of creepy crawlies you can get. The one thing you do know for sure is that where ever they come from, you just want them gone as soon as possible.

It is always important to keep an eye out for any kind of insects in your house because with many of them, like roaches for example, when they move in it is sometimes extremely difficult to kill them out completely. The roach can seem to be anywhere and everywhere when they have infiltrated the home. They get in the walls, closets, under rugs and carpets. They will burrow and make nests that appear to grow over night and actually it does not take that long for your home to be full of these nasty, germ carrying bugs.

Ants can be another common insect that a homeowner might have to deal with. They can be outside and make their way inside. These little pests will crawl on your counter tops and anywhere else they can get just like roaches. They might not have as big of a reputation for being as nasty as the roach, but you still do not want them getting all over your kitchen and other places.

Of course, there are plenty of other insects like spiders, silverfish, moths, and probably untold numbers more, but one insect that any homeowner never wants to hear that is in their home is termites. Roaches might be nasty and carry germs and diseases, but termites will actually eat your home out from under you. Termites are attracted the most to decaying wood, many times water damaged wood that has bad spots. They like it because they eat the soft wood and. They will build nest under the home to start with usually and work their way where ever they can, eating as they go.

So, bugs and insects can be more serious than being annoying. Some homeowners are very picky about what kinds of pesticides that are used in their home because of pets and children. There are many kinds available that are non toxic to humans. Your local hardware or home store can will probably have what you need. If you had rather hire a regular exterminator, they can probably use a safer product if you like. Hiring a professional will save you the time and headache of doing one more job around the home that must be attended to regularly to keep your house bug free.
