Are Holidays In Spain The Right Choice?

By:

Who has not dreamt about a holiday in the Spain coast just relaxing in the beach? It is a beautiful picture, but as time goes by, our reality changes. When we plan a holiday, we have to take into account prices, facilities available, and more importantly our children, who get easily bored by almost everything.

Regarding price, if you are looking to have a budget holiday, Spain may not be the right choice for you. The Euro is becoming stronger and stronger against the pound, the dollar, and many other currencies, so buying just the basics, as food or hygiene products can be awfully expensive.

On the other hand, if you are not on a budget and can afford a holiday in Spain, you will find that most resorts and hotels there are not as luxurious as you may expect. Though the exchange rate between currencies make of Spain an expensive option, this country is thought out to receive backpackers, thus there are plenty of hostels but there is a significant lack of five stars hotels.

Plus, if you are planning a trip on a winter break you will find that Spain has little to offer. Their forte is the beaches, so Spain may be great for summer holidays. Nevertheless, since many times the children will spend all day in the beach, it may be more convenient to have a holiday in the coast of your own country.

Something that is very common nowadays is to plan out gourmet holidays. Although Spain counts with a lot of great restaurants, the truth remains that it cannot compete with countries like Italy or France when it comes to food and cooking. And again, due to the exchange currency, you may find a simple dinner extremely expensive.

It is known that Spain does not invest in their parks as much as other countries or locations. That is why if you are planning a touring holiday, you may want to consider other options. The same thing happens for those in search of adventure, since there are not a lot of activities to satisfy the needs of this type of holidaymakers.

In addition, you need to consider all the extra fees that may come up when you plan a holiday in Spain. These fees may include different kinds of insurance to cover for your health, stolen or lost luggage and credit cards, etc. Those who already decided to plan a holiday in Spain will have to do a lot of research if they want to keep their budget.

It is advisable for these people to plan a do it yourself holiday. In this type of holiday, you do all the research on locations, attractions, and places to stay in, by yourself. In this way, you avoid extra charges and commissions that may result from booking a holiday with a travel agent.
