Are Angels Real?

I had to brighten up my day after writing an article on demons! Do you believe in angels? I have a tendency to believe more in angels than in demons. Maybe because of the way I was raised or because its comforting. Is it possible that we could have our own guardian angels? I did a little research to see what I would find when I look up angels on the Internet.

An angel is usually defined as a messenger of God. This varies across different cultures and religions. Some religions believe that angels can take on a human form. There are religious philosophers who believe that angels can be found in our outer galaxy and inside the sun! Some have wings and some dont, and the types of angels go on forever, varying through different cultures. Many people who have narrowly escaped a traumatic event or had a mysterious stranger come to their rescue might say that an angel came to their rescue while some might say it was just good luck.

It seems that many people who believe in angels also believe in demons, yet I found much more information online about demons than I did on angels. Everyone wants to tell their haunting stories but there are not as many stories out there about angels. It is obviously difficult to state why this is exactly. Im assuming that people search more for scary topics than they do for stories about angels. There also seems to be an increased interest in the paranormal these days with all of the exciting new TV ghost shows that have come about over the past few years. These are great but it would be nice, once in a while, to lighten things up with some positive stories of the world beyond. Perhaps we look up more scary topics online because its daring and we wouldnt need to know everything about angels because most of us dont fear them.

Angels occasionally make news headlines like; Passers-by were angels when girl, 6, lost hand or I Saw an Angel! Those who save peoples lives or help a stranger out of harms way are sometimes referred to as angels. Could it be that people have lost faith in each other so much that when human beings do what they should to help someone in need they are seen as divine? Or could it be that angels actually take on the life form of a human being? Perhaps its just comforting to believe that a celestial being is watching over us and guiding us in life. Then again, maybe angels are real and one is watching over you right now.
