Are All Computer Errors Caused By Corruption In The Registry?

By:

There are probably about a million different types of computer errors. Lately it has become a theme when a computer error message of any kind pops up, just run a registry cleaner. In this article, I will try to make the point that while I am a big fan of the proper use of the right registry cleaner, there can be more to some of these errors than just corruption in the registry.

I agree most computer errors are the result of registry corruption. However, sometimes dll errors are the exception to this rule. For this reason, I recommend running a spyware/adware cleaner before running a registry cleaner when attempting to fix a dll error.

Dll Files Accommodate Executable Files

The reason for this is spyware itself is an executable file and it uses dll files to interact with the operating system. I know this bursts the bubble of a lot of internet gurus out there who automatically try to sell you their registry cleaners as soon as your computer has a dll error, but to a computer technician the fact spyware and dll go together is just common sense!

Most people use a virus scanner regularly. This is good and itself a virus scanner will get rid of many types of spyware and adware. Unfortunately, the majority of virus cleaners will not arrest all types of parasites and so, this makes it necessary to run a spyware cleaner as well when trying to fix a dll error.

Running a registry cleaner before running a spyware and virus cleaner may repair the dll problem for a while but then it may return. This would happen because the registry repair fixed the corrupted file but then spyware or virus infected it again. So, you can see spyware and virus cleaning is a necessary part of being sure you got to the bottom of your dll error.

Hit a dll Error From Every Direction

So, if you are not sure your virus scanner will eliminate all types of malware, it will be necessary for you to run a not only your virus scanner, but a spyware cleaner and a registry cleaner as well, in order to be sure the dll error is eliminated for good.

Doing all of the above probably seems like a daunting task, but it really isn't when you consider the amount of trouble curing some dll problems used to entail. Without getting too technical, once upon a time fixing them required a huge amount of work. Now, it's just a matter of running a couple of software programs. Software programs that should be a part of your maintenance tool arsenal anyway.

If you experience dll errors, there is one more thing you should know about them. That is, beware of anyone advising you to look for and download a new to dll file to replace the bad one. This is not the best way to approach repairing the problem. There is too much room for things going wrong when replacing a dll.

Removing the offending spyware and/or registry corruption will usually take care of the dll problem. However, if you have spyware, replacing the dll may actually stop the error message temporarily but the spyware will still be at work in the background observing your browsing habits and possibly stealing your identity.
