Appreciative communication is a convenient and effective way for a leader to increase the output of a group or an individual. Our world is socially based and due to experience and conversations, a meaning is created. Some experts even claim that appreciation took place in the creation of community. One can be sure appreciation sense making process creates strong social will and comprehension of aims as well as ways and means to reach them.

In order to achieve desired results, implementations in the work process and social relationship have to be made. Affiliation, integration and collaboration are main part of the process. It is crucial for a leader to act within the moment and never to leave tasks and duties to be done at a later stage. Otherwise, it may result in devastating manner for the company. Diversity and commonality should be valued within the employees. The leader should be able to move beyond practices of blame and to approach fairly to the crux.

Special methods have been developed for appreciative communication also known as 4D Appreciative Inquiry approach:

Discover Structured interviews are conducted, where people talk to each other. The objective is to discover the moments when the company is at its zenith.

Dream Often run as large group conferences, in this phase people are encouraged to depict the company as if the peaks discovered in the Discover stage were normal for the company.

Design A small team is gathered and given the task to design ways to make the dream company a reality.

Destiny The final stage in which changes are implemented.

Appreciative communication is rather generative than problem-solving. Thus, a collective agreement is generated about a given task instead of trying to solve the problem. When this happens, many of the problems become neglectful.
