Applying Aloe Vera For Diaper (nappy) Rash: Tips For A Satisfied Baby

By:

For anyone who has ever had a baby they know all about skin irritation. This is particularly true of babies who are on antibiotics, as they are even more susceptible. Applying aloe vera for nappy rash is just one way to ensure you have a happy baby.

Diaper rash occurs when the skin of a baby is irritated and usually very dry. This can be quite painful for a baby and can even lead to more intense irritation like blistering. Dealing with this issue in a timely manner is crucial if you want to stop your child from suffering.

Making your baby comfortable is the first step in easing their pain. If you can arrange a small, low speed fan to blow cool air on the affected area this can often provide relief and keep the baby dry. Make sure your child is not too close to the fan though, as this can lead to accidents.

Another tip is to give the baby a warm bath. You can then towel the baby off to make sure it is completely dry. After that, applying powder or pure Aloe Vera can help relieve the area.

If you are using ointments instead of powder or aloe vera just be sure to use a small amount. Large amounts of oily ointments can be hard to remove and some people actually make the area more irritated by continued rubbing. So use ointment judiciously to make sure you are not applying too much.

Preventing nappy rash is ideal but this can be difficult, as almost all babies get irritated skin once or twice in their lives. The best way to avoid skin problems is to keep the baby dry at all times. Using wet wipes is find but make sure that you dry your baby before putting the diaper on.

If you are using a disposable diaper, be sure to get one that can accommodate a large amount of liquid. Even if using a top quality diaper it is still important to change a dirty nappy as soon as possible. There are chemicals in bowel movements and urine that can irritate the skin so be sure to get that dirty diaper changed as soon as it happens.

Applying aloe vera for nappy rash is a good idea but there are several other ways to ease the suffering of your baby. Using ointments and powders can also be effective but the best way is to avoid it altogether. So keep your baby dry and change those dirty diapers and hopefully you will never have to encounter this painful rash.
