To qualify for the occupation of a Chef in
Canada, there are certain minimum criteria that you need to fulfill, they are:
Completion of higher secondary education
Cook trade certificate or equal level credentials, experience and training certificate
Executive chefs must have training of management skills and experience in professional preparation of food as a sous-chef, specialist chef.
Sous-chefs, specialist chefs and chefs needs to have the experience in business food preparation.
Interprovincial trade certification is also required which is provided to the qualified chefs.
The qualified chefs are provided with Chef de cuisine certification by the Canadian Culinary Institute of the Canadian Federation of Chefs and Cooks.
