You will hear people telling you that you are throwing money away if you are opting for renting, which may be partly true. But apart from that, if you are one of the apartment owners whos thinking of renting his or her apartment to renting and then rent for a house for his family, then there are some factors which you need to look at;

Rent will change for the people who have lived for a year and above, and most of them have now noticed that the increases are made with each renewal of the lease. But sometimes, the charges may only increase with a very insignificant fraction depending on how you improve your property. Nevertheless, if its a fixed rate one, rates will remain fixed which may affect your capability to repay the loan.

Building of equity: if you are a resident of Croatia few chances are there that you are going to move to another country, then those who are saying that you are throwing your money in the ditch while renting may in fact have been true. This is because houses to rent will give you no equity regardless of how much rent you are paying for your apartment. Once you have decided to move out, there is nothing to show that you were paying rent for years. Remaining with your house can however help you build your equity, thus, you can sell your home when you are in very need of money.

No tax advantage: when you are paying for your apartment, you are never given a tax advantage. Changes in the apartment?
