Anxiety is basically your bodys reaction or response to a threat. When anxious, you find your heart pounding quickly, your breathing going faster and your muscles getting all tensed up. This is also an anxiety self help technique. This is done by systematically contracting and loosing different muscle group in the body. When a person relaxes his body, it would follow that his mind relaxes too!

Anxiety makes a person breathe faster than normal. Fast breathing also can lead to dizziness, lightheadedness, breathlessness and tingling of the hands and feet. In order to avoid this symptom of anxiety, breathing from the diaphragm will do the trick! By doing so, breathing would normalize and the entire body will be calm.

Meditation is also a self help technique. As some of the meditation just minimizes anxiety, the meditation using more of the mind, helps in providing relief from anxiety better. The prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that displays serenity and joy will be boosted when a person undergoes regular meditation.

By being in a physically healthy state helps cure anxiety attacks. It would be done so by taking in healthy and nutritious foods, combined with a regular exercise.

Getting into a Healthy Diet

Eating right foods, with the right quantity in each food groups, is a way to follow a healthy diet. Process and fatty foods must be avoided, as well as caffeine from coffee, soda and cocoa as these can cause anxiety attacks.

Vitamins and minerals is needed to promote the bodys well state, so multi-vitamins must also be included in the daily diet. A healthy well-being helps the person overcome anxiety.

An Everyday Exercise is Advisable and Essential

Exercise is a very effective way of an anxiety self help technique. 30 minutes of exercise will release the endorphins of the body, a natural mood enhancing chemicals in the body, which is better than any mood enhancing drug a doctor can prescribe for anxiety.
