Do you know any way to select the most effective antioxidants? One reason it's so difficult is that there are so many choices. There are new developments from continuing investigations concerning antioxidants nearly every day, and they each allege to know how to be of lasting benefit. Obtaining the most effective antioxidants can certainly provide you with the help you need to control free radicals.

It's frightening, to think that anyone should require to be continuously reminded how to remain healthy? Although most people are willing to do something to protect their vehicles from oxidation, and rusting, they are less willing to defend themselves, from free radical attack. It is certain that the car will soon deteriorate if rust is allowed to progress, but our bodies will become "rusty" if free radicals are not stopped in their tracks. By all means take care of your car, but make your foremost priority looking after yourself. A good place to start is with the 5 - 9 fruit and vegetables every day, and seeking the advantages of the antioxidants they contain.

High fat diets can significantly add to free radical production, and it is widely accepted that saturated fat causes free radical damage. However, the situation is not straightforward as not all fats are loaded with free radicals. A healthy way to start could be to try to shun saturated fats, that include animal meat, and fried foods of any description. There are different fats, such as fish oils, which current studies suggest are actually beneficial, but trans fats, widely used in shop bought biscuits, cakes, etc. are almost being outlawed!

Luckily the majority of fruit and vegetables can supply antioxidants to a greater or lesser degree. If you include plenty of these in your diet, you will be doing just what is required to stop free radical damage in its tracks. Although you would not ordinarily consider fruit and vegetables as being natural medicine, that is most certainly what they are, but they have the added advantage of also being a culinary delight.

One of the best antioxidant foods around are wild American blueberries. If you know of any place you can purchase some, or even better, where to pick your own, don't hesitate to stock up. You should not be too concerned if blueberries are unobtainable as the majority of other fruit and vegetables have a high level of antioxidants. Many health authorities suggest that a range of 5 - 9 portions of fruit and vegetables every day is what you should consume. Make it your policy to err towards the top end of this recommendation, and you will then be well on your way to a natural health, free radical controlling lifestyle. Make it your business to ascertain which fruits and vegetables are the best for antioxidants, and you could then find that they are some of the foods you already prefer.
