According to customs statistics, in the fourth quarter of 2010, China exported 5.715 million tons of fertilizer, valued at $ 1.99 billion, an increase of 96.9%. The average export price was $ 348. In the whole year, the total export of fertilizer was 15.1 million tons, valued at $ 5.07 billion, an increase of 74.8%. The average export price was $ 336. In the fourth quarter of 2010, China imported 1.941 million tons of fertilizer, valued at $ 710 million, an increase of 220%. The average import price was $ 363. In the whole year, the total import of fertilizer was 7.02 million tons, valued at $ 2.56 billion, an increase of 77.5%. The average import price was $ 336.

In the fourth quarter of 2010, with the improvement of the international economy, China's exports of urea rebounded. China's total exports of urea in the fourth quarter ware 3.335 million tons, valued at 1.05 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.5 times. The average export price was $ 315.

From the export perspective, in the fourth quarter of 2010, the top three of China's urea export markets were India, Bangladesh and the United States. The total export volume accounted for 75.2% of the total exports of urea. Urea exports to these three major markets were 1.501 million tons, 578,000 tons and 430,000 tons, an increase of 3.9 times 72.8% and 8.7 times respectively.

Looking at the export supply, Yunnan Province and Guizhou Province are major provinces of China's exports of DAP. The exports of the two provinces together accounted for 60.4% of the total national exports. In the fourth quarter, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces exported 447 thousand tons and 278 thousand tons. The export volume grew 1.3 times and 56.3% respectively compared with the same period of last year.

Viewing from the source of imports, in the fourth quarter, almost 80% of China's imports of urea come from Japan and Germany. The respective imports were 18.4 tons and 3 tons. The average price of imports were$ 2,503 and $ 7,412. Jiangsu Province was the largest destination of urea imports in the fourth quarter, whose imports accounted for 65.7% of the total national imports. Jiangsu Province imported 15 tons of urea in the fourth quarter, worth $ 27,000. However there was no import at the same period of last year. The average import price was $ 1,774.

Analysts of the fertilizer industry analyzes that due to the improvement of the international economy, China's exports of fertilizer grew rapidly.
