Although rapping is generally thought to be synonymous with hip hop, hip hop actually is the part of a subculture.

The credit of creating the Hip hop beats is generally given to Keith Cowboy, who used to be the rapper with bands like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. However, Keith Cowboy, Love bug Starski, and DJ Hollywood used the term when people knew this as the disco rap.

It is believed that the term came about when Keith Cowboy teased a friend of his who had just joined the U.S. Army in order to imitate the rhythmic cadence of the marching of the soldiers. The term was later incorporated into the musical performances by Cowboy and used by SugarHill Gang in the Rappers Delight.

Rapping, which is also known as emceeing or MCing, is a style of single in which an artist speaks about the notes and lyrics in a rhythmic style to the tone of a musical instrument or to the sound of beats. The great thing about rapping is that these can be created by individual artists and they can also customize the existing beats to create their own beats.

The artists of this genre certainly know well how to make hip hop beats. They were able to listen to the existing lyrics and beats and then customize them to make own hip hop beats. The entire practice has inspired a generation that has learnt how to make hip hop beats. The entire genre of music became so popular that people would now readily know how to make hip hop beats.
