The Chevy Cavalier, or the Chevrolet cavalier as it was officially known as, was a very popular compact automobile which was originally introduced to the market back in 1982. Since then it went up through many redesigns and came to be a very popular motor with a great deal of positive reviews and are generally happy customer base.

Our regional either cavalier went on sale in 1981. It was a front wheel drive with 24 cylinder engines. It came in two forms, one with two doors and one with four doors. The second generation of cavaliers came in in 1988. They were thoroughly redesigned with a different styling and considerably modified engines. They also had varying body styles but the hatchback body style and the two doors sedan eventually disappeared from the product range. They were replaced by the coupe.

The second generation had varying body styles as it did the first generation although the two door sedan model had been abandoned as was the hatchback body style eventually. Through the redesigns, these for avenge she replaced by the coupe design.

In 1990 the engine was given a major upgrade, from 2. 8 l to 3. 1. Also, at the time the transmission was somewhat overhauled, enhancing performance of the car to compete with models which were being released at the time from other companies. It went through another revision again in 1991 with regards to the interior and the exterior but for three years after that, the car did not change great deal more.

When third generation came in, it went through a complete facelift. The 1995 cavalier was a total redesign and do not have a great deal in common with its original predecessors. The third generation saw many other major changes as well. The wagon star was discontinued a previously discontinued styles including the coupe and convertible were reintroduced.

In 2005, this line of products from Chevrolet was replaced with the Chevrolet Cobalt. This car is now available is both coupe and sedan models. It also continues production today and is not yet undergone any major changes and redesigns. However, it is expected in 2009 that the company will release another model of car to replace this one.
