An Example Of A Six Sigma Tool

Six Sigma is best described as a set of conceptual tools to improve the way people in an organization solve business problems. Although it is a management tool to be used by a computer, because the whole purpose of Six Sigma is that everyone in an organization to conduct its role in streamlining the efficiency of business processes. Using Six Sigma tools, equipment, staff and workers understand the overall situation. They are able to see the events business processes and discern the difference between efficient and inefficient processes.

Six Sigma uses many tools. For example, using the fishbone diagram and profit pyramid. These tools create an understanding of the overall operations of a company.

One powerful reason to use six sigma is because it helps a business to continuously improve its business processes while simultaneously reducing the costs associated with inefficient processes.

By working on inefficiencies, problems, or bottlenecks in a system, a business will work better in every way. The business will manage people better, create more valuable products, offer higher quality services, market its value to the buying public more persuasively, and delivers its products or services more efficiently.

Like anything else in life, a firm can be analyzed, which means that its various operations can be conceptually divided into parts to see what they're made of. In six sigma, these parts are considered dynamic, and are called processes.

First, six sigma identifies different types of processes in a business.

Second, he notes those that are dysfunctional and reducing overall productivity of the enterprise and reducing profits.

Third, it sets off or inefficient processes. In so doing, it eliminates unnecessary costs.

The result of applying these three steps of any process is that all work processes and on the job - because there is no process in isolation. In other words, all processes are integrated and establishing a process to improve other processes. The result is that total activity increases significantly.

The advantage triangle is a concept six sigma which sheds light on how a company is an integrated business where all parties must work in harmony to make the venture successful and profitable. In the triangle-profit, all sides of the triangle represents a major macroeconomic component of the company. These sides represent value creation, internal operations and competitive advantage. If one side is overdeveloped and another side is underdeveloped, so the company will be "twisted." For example, if a company has highly efficient internal operations and creating value excellent, but a market advantage weak, then the company will not do as well as he could about the market. He survives, then it could be successful. Recognizing this gap, executives in a company can decide how to differentiate their firms from competition. In a triangle profit if both sides are too long, then the third side is too short. When the triangle is distorted out of shape, the company will not be very profitable.
