An Easy Way To Unlock Your Blackberry Storm 9500 And Use It With Any Service Provider Worldwide

By:

The BlackBerry Storm 9500 was introduced in November 2008. This is RIM's very first Blackberry phone to incorporate "Surepress", the touch screen display that reacts like a physical key pad by giving off a clicking sensation every single time you touch onto the screen. Several other main options on the unit also include a 3.25 inch display, an accelerator in order to rotate the screen, 3.2 mp camera, 528mhz Qualcomm cpu and 1 gigabyte of storage.

The blackberry Apllication Center will allow owners to download a selection applications like Facebook, Flickr, Youtube, Google maps, instant messaging applications, and much more.

There is good and bad news regarding the web connection. Although the cellphone does utilize HSDPA for speedier internet browsing on supported networks, the bad news is that there is no Wi-fi. In addition, if you get the phone unlocked and want to make use of it on North American GSM service providers such as Cingular AT&T or T-mobile, you would be limited to using their slower EDGE connection.

If you bought a Blackberry and would now like to switch providers, you will need to get your device unlocked. If you are wondering why the cell phone comes locked, the answer is simple. Service providers will usually offer the phone for significantly less then retail and recoop the expense over the period of a few months (based on the length of the contract you signed with the service provider). By locking the phone to their network, this helps reassure them that you won't just get the phone from them at a discount, break your agreement and change to a less expensive wireless service provider.

After your cell phone is unlocked, it will be possible to use a sim card from just about any other GSM service providers. Many individuals take advantage of cellphone unlocking when they take a trip, so that they can get a simcard through the local area service provider in what ever city they're traveling to. This allows them to avoid paying the roaming costs that their service provider back home will charge them (when using your cellphone in another country, you will be charged roaming fees from your service provider, which can be avoided if you use your unlocked cell phone with a local simcard).

Unlocking your phone is easy, you just need an unlock code. You can buy a code by going to our website CellUnlockCode.com (complete url is at the end of this article). As soon as your unlock code is ready, it will be emailed to you (it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the unlock service you purchased) Once you've received your Blackberry code, all you have to do is follow these code entry instructions below.

This process can be done with or without a sim card inserted into your Blackberry

1. Turn on your Blackberry and click on the "Manage Connections" icon. Select the option "Turn off all connections". All connections will be disabled.

2. Go back to the Home screen and click on the "Options" icon and choose "Advanced Options"

3. Scroll down and select "SIM Card" from the list

4. Press the Blackberry key and select "Show Keyboard" to display the keyboard

5. Hit the following keys in order: MEPD

6. On the following screen, type MEP then [ALT BUTTON] then the number 2 (NOTE: You will not see any text show up on the screen when typing)

7. A prompt will show up asking for the MEP code. Type in the unlock code you received from from cellunlockcode.com

8. Restart your cellphone

As soon as your phone unlock code has been typed in and accepted, your phone will be unlocked. You can then insert a simcard from from any gsm carrier and the phone should automatically acquire the network. In some instances you might need to change a couple of configurations on the cell phone (e-mail along with other internet related services) by pointing them to your new service provider.
