8. Place the iron around the roots of your hair. Pull the tool down about 1/2 inch and curl it up. Keep on doing this, moving down the section of hair and curling the straightener every 1/2 inch. When you finish, the section of hair should be both around and within the flat iron. Release your hair from the device.

9. Use the tip of a hair clip to divide another diagonal section about 1 inch above the preceding section.

10. Create two 2-inch sections from the separated diagonal section of hair referenced in the earlier step. Separating your hair will aid you curl it consistently. Curl both portions of hair independently.

11. Using this method, go on to work your way around your head, until you have achieved your preferred look.
