American Cities Destroyed By Fire Came Back Better Than Ever

By:

During the history of our country, there have been several major cities that were nearly destroyed by fires that could have wiped them off of our maps entirely. Fortunately for us, these cities arose from the ashes and came bigger, and better, and more a part the Success of our country than we could have imagined. The three that first come to mind, of course, are Atlanta, San Francisco, and Chicago.

These cities were all set on fire for different reason. The famous San Francisco fire was initially caused by an earthquake. It broke gas lines and the fires started and quickly spread from there. We always thought that the great fire of Chicago was started by a cow that belonged to a Mrs. O'Leary in her barn, that that was found to not be exactly true. Atlanta suffered fire devastation during the Civil War when Sherman marched his Yankee troops through the region.

It took years for these cities to recover from the destruction that these terrible wide spread fires left, but today you would never even believe such a thing had ever taken place if we did not know better. The resilience of Americans is known throughout the world as relentless and it would take more than a fire to keep one of our cities from coming back stronger than ever before.

All three of these cities are major contributors to this country and millions of people live in each one of them. They are at the height of cultural and social status. There are a multitude of entertainments and business opportunities in all three. Some of the largest companies in the world are based in these cities. They are filled with parks and restaurants of all kinds, not to mention the rich history that surrounds them.

Atlanta has really turned into a mega metropolis concerning business. San Francisco is flogged with tourists year round, and of course Chicago is now known as the place where Oprah Winfrey works and has her enormous company based among other things. IF you were to take a vacation or even move to live in one of these wonderful cities, you could never be disappointed. There is simply too much to do and too much to see to ever get bored living in any of them. When it comes to hot spots in our country, Chicago, San Francisco, or Atlanta are still on fire, only in a different way.
